"If we are to teach real peace in this world, and if we are to carry on a real war against war, we shall have to begin with the children."

Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi

Any group get yourselves a box fill it with your kids used shoes mail it to:

US Embassy
The Great Masoud Road
Kabul, Afghanistan

Requires little investment and very much love.

WARNING- This video contains graphic scenes of suffering.  If you want to see just the child who needed shoes that inspired me to create this concept, fast forward to 5:00.

"I remember what my father said to me. He said, I will die one day, my son, and it will be before you die. But try to study. Try not to attack anybody or hurt anybody. Do not steal and be a good person. Keep praying to God. Keep worshipping him and pray for me after I die."
~Mojide Age 12 (parents killed by Taliban) Part 2 Children of Conflict Afganistan.

Belief in God...praying...studying...no violence and being good.  Seems pretty much what any father
would want from his son in any nation.
The conflict comes in so ironically when the word "God" is asked to be defined.  This is where the wars begin and never end.  The quest for righteousness has emphasis on who believes oneself to BE right.  Often, the path to righteousness is a narrow road with narrow vision leaving the innocents to be collateral damage.

It really makes you feel like shit doesn't it? How we complain about how a toilet is clogged in our house, or how our favorite blanket is torn. Many people don't realize how much food they waste, every single day. If we were to give that wasted food to someone in Afghanistan, they could feed their whole family for a couple days. But instead we whine about the common cold and having to go to school every day. Well, try living there. See how much you complain then.
