blog4Peace 2024 Libby Holds The Light

As I crawl into the Virtual Dumpster I call THE INTERNET...

The Statue of Liberty's French name is La Liberté éclairant le monde, which translates to "Liberty Enlightening the World" in English. The statue is also known as "Lady Liberty." Many replicas hold the torch.

In 2018, I designed my Peace Globe with Lady Liberty. As a second-generation American, I am enamored by everything "Libby" represents.  I was excited that she was not only here in the U.S.

In Lviv, Ukraine there is a version of Liberty that I included in my current Peace Globe. In September, the historical district where the Ukrainian Libby sits was bombed. I became aware that an organization has made ethical guidelines to protect History.

UNESCO stands for the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization Unesco actually has listed World Heritage protected sites.

I googled to find out if the Ukrainian Libby survived. She did!

I am having a hard time with what was said at the Presidential Debate. It makes me sad.

My mom was a war child in WII whose family starved for 3 years. My Grandfather died of a starvation-related disease in a P.O.W. camp. My mom's oldest sister stayed in the city. She was killed by sniper fire. Others in the city were rallied to trucks under the guise of food only to see a machine gun. This is WAR. So a phone call?? A PHONE CALL.

Somewhere historically, a former President will speak his mind and advise his party of good ideas like let's say...how to stop a war in a day with a phone call...Couldn't hurt (anymore victims..)

I wish when it was said, someone could give him a phone...

Somebody offer their cell phone in the audience.

Maybe everybody just raise their cell phones and chant HERE CALL NOW PLEASE!

Post thought: I need to be more politically inclined and educated to be responsible for choosing a national leader. You should watch what you say, but what you say does not determine if you really do your job well...IDK.

So many words and so many promises. And I have obviously  have a personal grudge on WAR. Many people are ruined and sadness abides. It's not a trivial topic.

Niagra Falls! Slowly I turn Democratic step by step inch by inch.

Conservative has an angry swag and not sure who is right or wrong...but two choices dominate.

I hear a man tell the World that he has a plan that would stop the wars inflicting Ukraine just with a phone call. It would never have happened on "his" watch. An American with access to his party minions in the Senate and Congress. He travels from State to State. As time passes, the body count rises and destruction continues. This is what he will do the day after IF elected.

To speak of holding solutions in one's pocket when the pictured Holy Sister is praying in a shelter?

For shame, Sir.

  1. Bluezy! Bluezy! I love this so much. Thanks for the history lesson and research on Lady Liberty that went into this post. What an image! I would like to see that phone call chant in reality! And yes, while we're call-waiting, people are dying and the war rages on. It's stomach turning and vile. I'm sorry for what your family endured. I'm sorry that's part of your legacy and DNA. But I'm thankful for YOU and the way your string words together into succinct bullets (no pun intended) that sting my soul and stir my brain and heart. The animation is so cool and so you! I bow. Thank you for blogging for peace with us this year. It would never be the same without you. You hold the light like no one else.

    1. We all needed the movement your grandpa's marbles created. I live in Texas. Many people here get angry when you are not tuned into their scary frequency. My cats share my ideals. Occasionally they rally around demanding more Tuna less Meow Mix. Only the in-water cans. I bought the in oil recently. As their leader, I should of been more attentive.

  2. Synchronicity at its best... Lately I've been looking into Lady Liberty, freedom goddesses and statues. Partly because I'm finally visiting her in New York next year, partly because I did a ritual that needed her power. Thank you for the insights. Peace to you and yours.

    1. I hope your stay in NYC will be lengthy. So much to see. I went there at age 19. Spring Break and three of us college girls in a convertible 2-seater Fiat. NYC was not scary. It rained and people were walking the sidewalk with umbrellas. A lady insisted we share hers. Parking off of Time Square was expensive, but when we went into the underground parking the guys there said our car was small and just put us in a place and said no charge. We drove around, got lost, and feared we would get into some historically violent area. We talked to a cabbie and asked how to get to the Holland Tunnel and he just said FOLLOW ME. I saw Libby from a distance and a corner of Central Park. Nicest people ever.

  3. Wow, what a very good point. Somebody should have handed him a phone! It's so very hard to look away from a train wreck, isn't it? But even in train wrecks, people survive. Hold tight to your light.

  4. I applaud you for speaking for peace with a personal history of what suffering through war truly means to citizens. Your words have power from that personal experience. Thanks for choosing peace.

    1. Thank you for always showing up on Peace Day. I mentioned this to someone and they said "Why would something so ancient as the WWII war mean anything to my vote, that was then this is now" Conquistadors may wear blinding helmets and tread upon the dead, but the soil remains archaeologically stained with blood. That spinning Grampa's marble cannot lie.

  6. I shared my reaction to the debate with someone. What happened to my WWII family. He said that was then, and this is now.

  8. Spinning Papa's marble......I just realized. Taking a closer look.....In tears. It makes me feel that he is even more alive in this movement here with us. Papa would have turned 110 on Nov 4th. He would be so honored to see your rendition. So am I.
