On Wisconsin
I went to high school in Madison, Wisconsin. (MAD city) After the Dow Chemical sit in turned to horror in 68, my dad (who was a full professor at UW)put in for an overseas assignment in Brazil. We came back when the tear gas was way settled, in 1972. I left in 4th grade, came back in 9th.
The video Two Days in October has footage of the riot, and it made me cry. Imagine having to work in that environment? I'd be out there clubbing the cops right back. You can hear the thumps of the riot sticks in the footage.
I am proud of the Wisconsin spirit. They are fighting for all states.

Isn't it sad that it takes violence to be heard. Sometimes I get so ashamed at the way our country responds / ignores things. It's awful.
No, the Wisconsin Dow Chemical Protest was just a sit down peaceful protest. They filled the building where the Dow recruiters were going to be and sat there. When the local police came it, the police started clubbing people.
Watch the video. It is actual footage.
