Comic book reading was once stigmatized as for children or the simple minded.
With the evolution of printing ,writing standards, and the mighty computer, the comic book has come a long way.

Monsieur Vieuxbois-sometimes referred to as the first modern comic

It is a treasure in my virtual dumpster that I just discovered.  Here, you can see the history of comics.  There are some of the oldest comic books archived there.  It was interesting to browse thru, but it makes you think on how the comics have truly evolved.  Story and art of contemporary comics is like night and day to those archived.  We as a people are much more complex and I believe comic books have tried to satisfy that change.

I 'Googled' "history of American comic books' and got  'About 44,600,000 results in (0.30 seconds).

Here are some highlights:

So you get the idea that comics go way back and have a strong following.  I like the art and the imagination that are involved in comics.

Terminator 1984 JUST released Sept 29th (see Josh Whedon's name there making up for
the canceled Terminator: The Sara Connor Chronicles TV series?
And everybody knows "The Hulk".

But what is even more appealing to me is when they take the art and the story and put it into motion.  I enjoy all the movies that have to do with some sort of comic.  And better if it remains  a drawn work instead of actors portraying the comic book story.

What inspired me to blog about comics was watching the new DC Animated Universe animation "Batman:  Under The Red Hood".
